Dance & Be Happy – Sofi Tukker Live

Attending a Sofi Tukker show is like being at a party with Sophie, Tucker and hundreds of their closest friends.

Sofi Tukker’s existence happened by chance after Sophie Hawley-Weld met Tucker Halpern during an art show at Brown University. A couple of months later, the Brooklyn-based duo penned their viral track, “Drinkee,” which has since been featured in an Apple Watch Ad, racked up more than 20 million Spotify streams and received a Grammy nomination for Best Dance Recording. This song was the first they ever wrote.

What I love about these Brown University grads is that they are ALL SUNSHINE, creating on stage beachy parties in Ibiza, infinity pools in the Algarve and gatherings with inflatable pizzas, palm trees and flamingos.

Tucker describes it perfectly, “I feel like since we’ve started performing our music, people just want to dance and be happy. People like being happy and that’s what we want to keep doing.”

This was an extra special show since it was Sophie’s birthday and we all sang happy birthday to her (video below).  Sophie likes to be amongst the audience so we got to sing and dance with her on the floor, see my friend Kathy in the video in this post! I feel so blessed to have been this close to these fun, talented humans sharing their joy with the rest of us, you can see it in their faces when they perform. 

Their energy is contagious and I’ve never seen so much audience participation. Their songs have been featured in FIFA ads two years in a row and multiple iPhone & Apple Watch commercials as well as other tv shows and movies. I can only hope that some of that energy comes across in this post. If you get the opportunity to see them live, DO IT!
